Drew Emails School Pictures

Drew has been faithful to work with the natives of Palacios and surrounding villages with much more than just the school. His witness and testimony has been a powerful influence on these people for the last 15 years. I have personally worked with Drew and find him to be a most trustworthy and hard working missionary. He speaks Spanish fluently and serves as an interpreter and servant for ministers who come out to the jungle to preach in the churches.

We lived in Palacios, which has a population of approximately 1500-1800 inhabitants.  To my knowledge, all speak Spanish as at least their second language. There are also those that speak Miskito (mees'-kee-toe) and others that speak Garifuna (ga-ri'-foo-na), which are both local indigenous languages.

Our ministry here has three main phases.  Drew was the overseer for the Mission in Palacios.  So first of all, we administrate the medical and  dental clinic, which still has two employees.  Mandi did the accounting and bookkeeping to make sure that all is running smoothly. Consuelo was our faithful nurse.  She see's patients on a daily basis and serving the community with her medical skill.  Wilbur has become quite the talented dentist.  He is doing extractions, cleanings and making dentures and partials.  He also graduated from Matthew McCollum's Bible school and was asked to return there to teach.  He is teaching daily from 7-9 am and then works in the dental office from 10-12 and 2-4. Wilbur and Consuelo are a great blessing to the Ministry and to the community.

Secondly, Drew administered the school and taught 2nd through 6th grade.  Marlin Blanco was in her 6th year teaching the Kindergarten and transitioning first graders.  She is a great blessing and has grown in the Lord.  The school teaches a bilingual program that utilizes Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) as it's main curriculum.  Since the school was founded, in 1993, we have operated as an American school in Honduras.  Now, we are in what we believe to be the final stages of Honduran accreditation, which will open up many more local opportunities for our graduates.  We do have two graduates that were able to get into the local high school and they are doing very well.  Their first year, they were first and third in their class. God is so good! It is great to see his hand at work.
