Hurricane of 2005

As most of you know, we had a series of storms hit Honduras over the past several weeks and this last one did a lot of damage in our immediate area. Here are a few photos from Palacios and Batalla (across the lagoon from us) after the recent flood.  In Batalla there were 39 homes lost when the flood broke a new bar mouth open through the middle of town and with the ocean still breaking against the edges, more are in danger in the weeks to come.  Words cannot describe what was done, but maybe the photos will give you an idea. There were 6 houses in Palacios that were destroyed.  In Sico, there were 5 homes lost, in the community of Los Naranjos, all but three homes were lost.
